This video describes some of Denis A. Yanashot's mixed media work and its history in regard to Anthra-Sight a body of sculpture he produced pertaining to the defunct anthracite industry of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Sculpture in-the-round, hanging wall relief and mosaic formats comprise this series.
Denis A. Yanashot's solo exhibition Anthra-Sight: A Sculptural Narrative of the Anthracite Industry of Northeastern Pennsylvania opens on September 8, 2017 at The University of Scranton in The Hope Horn Gallery.
Yanashot will give a lecture on this work from 5:00 - 6:00 PM in Brennan Hall, 800 Linden St. (Madison Avenue between Linden and Mulberry Streets), Room 228 on Friday September 8, 2017.
After the lecture there will be a public reception from 6:00 - 8:00 PM to view Anthra-Sight at The Hope Horn Gallery on the 4th Floor of Hyland Hall which is located on the northerly corner of Jefferson Avenue and Linden Street in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The lecture and opening reception are open to the public free of charge.
