Denis A. Yanashot was born an identical twin in Scranton, Pennsylvania. While in college and many years afterward his artistic focus was painting. He specialized in airbrush, touch-up and production line spray gun techniques in executing his paintings on large canvases and Masonite.
He graduated from Marywood College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and has received Masters Degrees in Education from Wilkes University.
In 2000, sculpture became the focal point of his artistic expression. Stone carving and welded steel are of particular interest to him sculpturally.
Mr. Yanashot has exhibited his stone sculptures regionally, nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions.
Currently he is engaged in the direct carving of alabaster, marble, pyrophyllite, steatite and serpentine.
